Pool is open 7 days a week, 8:00 am – 8:00 p.m. Day, evening, and weekend work will be required (hours will vary)

Position Duties
Pool Operator-Maintenance w/Certification
This is a temporary summer seasonal position. Individuals must be able to work outside in all weather conditions.

Assists Recreation Manager in all facets of Aquatic Center operations.
Assistant Manager
Summary of Position
Under supervision of and along with the Recreation Manager, the Assistant Manager will supervise, train and develop the staff. Lead customer service efforts for the facility. Assist in overseeing the maintenance, security, and cleanliness of the Anoka Aquatic Center. Day, evening, and weekend work will be required. Outdoor position which requires adapting to a variety of conditions.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities
- Supervise and review cash handling, staff performance, and personnel levels daily.
- Provide reports and other data requested by the Recreation Manager and other City Departments.
- Provide discipline and commendation to staff members as needed to ensure the highest moral and ethical behavior amongst the staff.
- Advise the Recreation Manager on issues pertaining to operation.
- Ensure the safety of all staff and facility users.
- Train staff in and model pleasant, proactive, and approachable customer service.
- Support the efforts of staff in maintaining a clean and sanitary facility.
- Along with the Recreation Manager, they provide seasonal employees with feedback on their performance.
- Responsible for attending and assisting with all staff meetings and required number of in-service training sessions. Maintain the required level of physical fitness, per Red Cross training requirements.
- Assist in opening and closing duties.
- Comply with established policies and procedures for employees of the City of Anoka.
- Complete accident and incident reports.
- Perform other duties as assigned.
Minimum Qualifications
Qualifications
Minimum Education/Experience Requirements:
- Former or current Certified American Red Cross Lifeguard with experience.
- Demonstrated leadership ability, including successful conflict management and complaint resolution.
- Supervisory, lead worker or other similarly responsible leadership experience.
- Functional knowledge of basic federal and state laws and best practices for managing and supervising employees.
- Great interpersonal and communication skills.
- Available to work a schedule that may include day, evening, weekends, and holidays.
- Ability to work under a variety of weather conditions.
Preferred Qualifications:
- Experience in cash handling and cash register operations.
- Experience supervising aquatic facility staff.
- Experience in training and evaluating seasonal staff.
- American Red Cross Authorized Lifeguard Instructor.
- Certified Pool Operator Certification.

Wages:
Assistant Manager:
- Start $18.00/hr
- After 1 year $19.00/hr
- After 2 years $20.00/hr
Pool Operator/ Maintenance (with certification) $19.00/hr
