Job Description

Starting Salary:
$20/hr

Panther Extended Care is an LHISD-sponsored before and after-school childcare program for elementary students. We provide a safe, structured environment with homework time, outdoor play, enrichment activities, and social development opportunities. Our staff maintains a positive, inclusive atmosphere while ensuring student safety and supervision. We support working families with reliable care from dismissal until 6:00 PM and morning care options.

The State Board for Educator Certification will require all first-time applicants for an initial credential to be fingerprinted as part of a national criminal background check.

PROFILE OF A LIBERTY HILL EDUCATOR
Liberty Hill ISD Educators are compassionate leaders, effective collaborators, adaptable thinkers,
determined problem-solvers, and skilled communicators.
PRIMARY PURPOSE
Ensure safe and orderly supervision of students enrolled in the LHISD Panther Care Program. Report to
the Panther Care Program during assigned hours (before and/or after school) to the assigned LHISD
location.
QUALIFICATIONS
Education/Certification
● High school diploma or hold a General Educational Development (GED) certificate.
Knowledge/Skills/Abilities
● Ability to follow written and verbal instructions.
● Ability to manage student behavior.
● Ability to read and verbally communicate with children, staff, and parents.
● Ability to work with groups of children in a positive manner.
● Ability to follow verbal and written instructions.
● Ability to relate to children and adults with courtesy, respect, acceptance, compassion, and
patience.
Experience
● Experience in a childcare or school setting.

Job Description: Panther Care Site Leader
● Supervise and ensure safety and security of children in the classroom, on outings, and to
and from outside play areas.
● Create staff schedules for their campus.
● Conduct regular inventory of supplies and snacks and communicate needs to supervisor.
● Determine student discipline consequences.
● Communicate with staff and parents regarding student behavior and disciplinary actions
taken.
● Manage student behavior according to the LHISD Student Code of Conduct and
handbook.
● Maintain discipline; report significant student discipline problems to supervisor. Instruct
students on safe behavior when needed.
● Coordinate with the principal on campus when facilities need to be shared.
● Collaborate with other Campus Site Leaders to coordinate and provide childcare for
campus PD days.
● Ensure facilities are clean and that trash is taken out daily.
● Correct unsafe conditions in the work area that could cause an accident and inform the
supervisor of any conditions that are not correctable immediately.
● Fill in for teacher shortages or last minute cancellations.
● Work varied hours based on school schedule.
● Complete required LHISD compliance training.
Safety
● Follow established safety procedures and techniques to perform job duties including lifting
and climbing.
● Follow district safety protocols and emergency protocols.
● Review emergency procedures regularly.
● Maintain current cardiopulmonary resuscitation (CPR) and first-aid certifications.
Other
● Participate in staff meetings and special events as assigned.
● Participate in staff development activities to improve job performance and meet state
childcare licensing standards.
● Assigned duties may vary based on campus assignment.
