POSITION SUMMARY
A Machine Operator at Wanner Engineering is responsible for safely operating and monitoring production of CNC and Manual equipment to meet quality, production and safety expectations. This role works closely with other production staff to perform routine machine adjustments, basic troubleshooting, and inspection of finished parts or products.
ESSSENTIAL DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES
Machine Operation
- Operate production equipment according to work instructions and production schedules.
- Load and unload raw materials and finished products to and from equipment.
- Monitor machine performance, speeds, cycle times, temperatures, pressures, and other operating conditions.
- Make minor adjustments to maintain quality and output standards.
- Maintain continuity between work shifts by communicating necessary information to the next shift.
Quality & Documentation
- Inspect parts/products using gauges, calipers, micrometers, or basic measuring tools (as applicable).
- Verify products meet print/spec requirements and report quality issues immediately to the Lead Machinist or Supervisor.
- Complete production logs, counts, scrap reports, WIP/move tags, and other required documentation.
Troubleshooting & Maintenance
- Perform basic troubleshooting to resolve minor machine issues.
- Complete routine preventive maintenance checks (lubrication, cleaning, tool changes, etc.) per the daily machine maintenance log.
- Communicate equipment problems or concerns to the Lead Machinist or Supervisor promptly.
