Job Description

The Managing Director of Strategic Practice Development is responsible for building, scaling, and leading platform‑based advisory practices across Cherry Bekaert Advisory. This role focuses on the development of repeatable, revenue‑generating practices around strategic technology platforms, including Ramp, Paystand, and ADP.

The Director owns practice strategy, go‑to‑market alignment, partner relationships, sales enablement, and delivery standards, ensuring each platform is positioned, sold, and delivered in a way that aligns with Cherry Bekaert’s advisory model, quality standards, and client expectations.

As the Managing Director of Strategic Practice Development, you will:

  • Build and scale strategic, platform‑based advisory practices from inception through maturity, including defining service offerings, engagement models, pricing approaches, and delivery standards.

  • Establish clear positioning for each platform within Cherry Bekaert’s advisory portfolio, ensuring alignment with client needs and firm capabilities.

  • Identify opportunities to expand or refine offerings based on market demand, partner capabilities, and client feedback.

  • Serve as the primary relationship owner for strategic platform partners, collaborating closely with partner sales, marketing, and enablement teams.

  • Represent Cherry Bekaert in partner‑led initiatives, roadmap discussions, enablement sessions, and strategic planning activities.

  • Enable Cherry Bekaert sales teams by developing discovery frameworks, demo narratives, pricing guidance, and qualification criteria for platform solutions.

  • Support presales efforts for complex or strategic opportunities, ensuring engagements are properly qualified and aligned with delivery capabilities.

  • Act as a senior advisor in executive‑level client discussions where platform strategy, integration, or operational impact is central to the engagement.

  • Partner with delivery leaders to ensure platform engagements are appropriately scoped, staffed, and executed, providing escalation support as needed.

  • Track practice health indicators—including pipeline, active engagements, partner momentum, and delivery feedback—and take action to protect client outcomes and firm quality standards.

What you bring to the role

  • Extensive experience in accounting technology consulting, advisory services, or platform‑based professional services.

  • Proven ability to build and scale practices or service offerings within a professional services organization.

  • Strong understanding of how technology platforms intersect with accounting, finance, and business operations.

  • Demonstrated success influencing cross‑functional stakeholders in a matrixed environment without direct reporting authority.

  • Exceptional communication skills, with the ability to engage sales teams, delivery leaders, partners, and client executives.

  • Experience working with SaaS platforms such as spend management, payments, payroll, or ERP‑adjacent solutions (preferred).

  • Familiarity with partner‑driven go‑to‑market models and multi‑practice environments (preferred).

The salary range for this position is listed below. Individual salaries within this range are determined by a variety of factors including but not limited to the role, function and associated responsibilities, a candidate's work experience, education, knowledge, skills, and geographic location.

Pay Range:

$214,600 - $252,146
