Job Description

Position Summary

 

The Site Controller reports directly to the Vice President, Global Operations Controller and is a key member of the Tecomet Finance team. To succeed in this role, you will manage finance operations for two individual sites, partner with the site directors of each site in driving the annual operating plan, and provide value added analysis to the local leadership teams.

This role's duties will require leading with integrity and reliability and having the ability to manage self and others with urgency, practicality, and accountability.  This position is for a creative team player with a talent for challenging the status quo, unique ideas, and influence.

The role also requires the above to be accomplished within Tecomet’s principles of continuous improvement, customer-driven innovation, and a win-first culture, while meeting company financial and other performance metrics.

 

Principle Responsibilities

  • Prepare financial statements in compliance with GAAP
  • Creation and analysis of financial information and performance metrics to facilitate decision making
  • Administer the monthly close process, with focus on streamlining processes, driving efficiencies and automation
  • Spend reporting, partnering with Operations to ensure planned spend levels do not exceed commitments, while relentlessly identifying cost improvement opportunities
  • Inventory analytics
  • Partner with the site directors and local leadership teams to evaluate the best deployment of capital and resources to drive the most growth and ROI for the business
  • Periodic review of labor and overhead rates to ensure appropriateness for inventory valuation, as well as quoting efforts
  • Cross-functional support in S&OP efforts
  • Liaise with external audit team, driving local efforts in meeting audit team requests
  • Oversee the site fixed asset system
  • Administer Continuous Improvement Program cost savings analytics
  • Assist in commercial opportunity financial analytics, ensuring future opportunities drive profitable growth
  • Daily / Weekly / Monthly KPI reporting
  • Cash-flow maximization mindset, focusing on working capital reduction and opportunities to improve
  • Formulate weekly flash reporting
  • Budget development, monthly forecasting
  • Evaluate, assess, document, implement and maintain internal controls to ensure risks are eliminated
  • Customer and product level profitability analytics
  • Performs other duties or special projects as required or as assigned by supervisor

 

Qualification Requirements

Credentials/Experience:

  • Bachelor’s degree (B.A.) in Accounting or Finance
  • Minimum 5 years of progressive and related professional experience, minimum 3 years within manufacturing

 

Experience/Educational/Training Preferred:

  • CPA Certificate preferred
  • MBA Degree preferred

 

Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities:

  • Knowledge of US GAAP
  • Cost accounting
  • Strong communication skills, both verbally and in writing
  • Proven analytical skills - defining problems, collecting relevant data, drawing valid conclusions, and recommending improvement/corrective actions
  • Ability and willingness to meet business critical deadlines
  • High attention to detail
  • Takes action on items beyond formal job responsibilities
  • Experience working in a dynamic and changing company environment a plus
  • Advanced Excel skills
