COLSA Corporation is hiring a sUAS Design Engineer to join our multidisciplinary team working on cutting-edge Uncrewed Aerial Systems (UAS) and related technologies.
Principal Duties and Responsibilities (*Essential functions)
- Support engineering efforts across multiple disciplines, contributing to the development and integration of UAS/sUAS systems
- Apply core engineering principles to solve technical problems and inform design decisions
- Assist in the design and refinement of systems, components, and processes within real-world constraints (cost, safety, manufacturability, sustainability)
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams to advance UAS/sUAS projects from concept through implementation
- Help identify, analyze, and resolve engineering challenges throughout the project lifecycle
- Utilize modern engineering tools and techniques to deliver accurate, high-quality results
- Manage and maintain CAD data within SolidWorks PDM
- Create and update engineering drawings in accordance with ASME Y14.100-2017 and Y14.5-2018 standards
- Develop Vendor Item Control Drawings for hardware and electrical components
- Contribute to design efforts supporting additive manufacturing, including components for UAS/sUAS platforms

- Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical or Aerospace Engineering
- Minimum of 1-2 years of related experience in an additive manufacturing environment
- Knowledge with CAD data and SolidWorks PDM Systems
- Secret Security clearance required, US Citizenship required
Preferred Qualifications
- Experience with FormLabs SLS printers and using Preform slicing software
- Experience with additive post printing processes
- Experience with assembly of sUAS systems
- Part 107 license
