This is a SHIPBOARD role.
Applicants must:
- Be genuinely interested in a career at sea and willing to live and work onboard a Disney Cruise Line vessel
- Be committed to the position you are applying for at least 2-3 contracts before a transfer or promotion
- Be willing to follow and perform safety role, emergency duties and/or associated responsibilities as specified in the ship Assembly Plan
- Be willing and able to uphold the general safety management responsibilities specified in the Safety Management System in areas and operations under their control
- Be willing to follow and embrace United States Public Health requirements and guidelines as well as Environmentality requirements and Company practices

Your Responsibilities:
- Have a valid passport and C1/D Seaman's visa (DCL will provide you with documents to obtain this)
- Complete a pre-employment medical
- Obtain a criminal background check
- Bring approved work shoes

Basic Qualifications
- Minimum two years of professional tailoring experience, within the last 4 years
- Proven experience in Fitting’s , Usage of industrial sewing machines (hemmer, over lock, flat and straight sewing machines), Hand stitching. Know straight stitching, blind stitching, single herringbone stitch (used in hand hemming) and Size adjustment

Responsibilities
- Responsible for costume alterations, repairs and other sewing jobs
- Issue, stock and maintain continuous supply of Crew costumes
- In charge of the slotted garments (fitting, daily sorting & quality control, replacement of garments if needed)
- Along with Wardrobe team responsible for maintaining an inventory of 45,000 + uniforms
- Ensure costume quality control and line spot check
- Prepare costume sets from slots
- Sort costumes returned from Laundry and vise versa
- Ensure cleanliness and maintenance of sewing equipment and room
- Ensure timely opening of windows based on designated hours for issuance and return of costumes; ensure window is covered at all times to avoid lines; responsible for daily issue of costumes through issue window
- See that costumes are scanned to the Crew member
- Maintain inventory of customs and related items to designated par level; advise Manager of shortages
- Check costumes returning from laundry for cleanliness; report needed repairs; ensure accurate storage
- Report any costume problems to Wardrobe Manager
- Respond to all Guest (internal) requests as required
