- Experience with students with Autism
- Experience with Discrete Trial Instruction and Applied Behavioral Analysis
- Demonstrated ability to analyze assessments and other student data as a means for making instructional decisions;
- Possess strong collaborative capabilities and proven ability to work as a member of a team consisting of but not limited to a SLP, School Psychologist, and School Social Worker;
- Knowledge of philosophies and objectives regarding cultural responsiveness;
- Knowledge of the Brigance Developmental Assessment of Basic Skills, Battelle Developmental Inventory and DIAL � IV;
- Familiarity with IEP Direct and writing IEP's;
- Familiarity with the Diagnostic Placements Process when developing and IEP;
- Strong background in literacy; and,
- Bilingual (Spanish-speaking preferred)
- Promote a strong foundation in language development and acquisition.
- Assist children in developing behavioral and social skill competencies.
- Collaborate with teachers regarding students' strengths and weaknesses and sharing strategies that have proven to be successful in supporting students' needs as students transition.
- Assist families in accessing wraparound services provided by our school/district and community-based organizations..
- PMT certification a plus
- Previous work with implementing ABA strategies

Job Title: Special Education Teacher
Reports To: Bulding Principal & Director of Pupil Services
Location: Momauguin Elementary School
Level: Classroom Instructor
Education: CT Teaching Certificate in Special Education (Endorsement 165; BA (preferred MA) from an accredited college or university in Special Education or equivalent.
This position is full-time. The salary and benefits associated with this position are outlined in the current East Haven Education Association contract.
