JOB DESCRIPTION

Summary/Objective 

The maintenance technician position is responsible for performing highly diversified duties to install, troubleshoot, repair and maintain production and facility equipment according to safety, predictive and productive maintenance systems and processes to support the achievement of the company’s goals and objectives.


Essential Functions

1.    Perform highly diversified duties to install and maintain production machines and the plant facility’s equipment.

2.    Provide emergency/unscheduled repairs of production equipment.

3.    Perform mechanic skills including, but not limited to, mechanical, electrical, pneumatic, hydraulic, troubleshooting and repair of production machines.

4.    Read and interpret equipment manuals and work orders to perform required maintenance and service.

5.    Diagnose problems, replace or repair parts, test and make adjustments.

6.    Perform regular preventive maintenance on machines, equipment and plant facilities.

7.    Use a variety of hand and power tools, electric meters and material handling equipment in performing duties.

8.    Detect faulty operations, defective material and report those and any unusual situations to proper supervision.

9.    Comply with safety regulations and maintain clean and orderly work areas.

Required Education and Experience

1.    High school diploma/GED and completion of a craft apprenticeship, or an equivalent number of years of education and production maintenance experience.

2.    5+ years of manufacturing maintenance experience; strong hydraulic, pneumatic, mechanical and industrial skills with some electrical.


Preferred Education and Experience

1.    Conversational programming for CNC


Work Environment

While performing the duties of this job, the employee is frequently exposed moving mechanical parts and vibration. The noise level in the work environment can be loud and hearing protection is required in some areas. 


Physical Demands

While performing the duties of this job, the employee is regularly required to talk and hear. The employee frequently is required  to stand; walk; use hands to finger, handle or feel; reach with hands and arms; and stoop, kneel, crouch or crawl. The employee will occasionally lift and/or move up to 50 pounds. Specific vision abilities required by this job include close vision, color vision and ability to adjust focus.
