Job Description:

A research position is available in the field of damage mechanics in brain tissue, leveraging computational head models. It will support a project related to development of digital twins for mild traumatic brain injury (mTBI) in American football athletes.

Job Responsibilities:

25% Develop and improve computational head models using ABAQUS to capture damage evolution in brain tissue under successive loading.

45% Incorporate on-the-field head impact data into simulations and validate results/behavior. Data processing using MATLAB or Python may be required.

15% Suggest alternative constitutive material models to simulate brain tissue behavior.

10% Communicate findings via presentations and journal/conference publications.

5% Assist with proposal writing for a follow-up project.

Minimum Qualifications:

Master's degree in Mechanical Engineering, Aerospace Engineering, Material Engineering, or Material Science and related field.

Preferred Qualifications:

0-2 years of experience with computational modeling using ABAQUS or similar finite element analysis packages, material models implementation, and data analysis using MATLAB, Python or similar programming languages.
