Job Description

Job Summary

The Field Safety Technician is responsible for supporting the implementation and enforcement of safety policies, procedures, and regulatory requirements across field operations. This role works closely with project managers, supervisors, and field personnel to promote a safe work environment, reduce incidents, and ensure compliance with OSHA and company safety standards. The Field Safety Technician performs site inspections, safety training, incident investigations, and assists with the development of safety programs.

Key Responsibilities

  • Conduct routine job site safety inspections and audits to ensure compliance with company policies and OSHA regulations.

  • Identify hazards and unsafe conditions, and work with supervisors to implement corrective actions.

  • Assist in the development and implementation of safety procedures and programs.

  • Monitor field activities to ensure proper use of personal protective equipment (PPE) and safe work practices.

  • Conduct safety orientations and toolbox talks for field personnel.

  • Investigate incidents, near misses, and injuries, and prepare detailed reports with recommendations for prevention.

  • Maintain accurate safety documentation, reports, and compliance records.

  • Assist with Job Hazard Analyses (JHA) and risk assessments for field operations.

  • Coordinate with project teams to ensure safety requirements are integrated into daily work planning.

  • Support emergency response procedures and ensure proper reporting protocols are followed.

  • Promote a positive safety culture and encourage employee participation in safety initiatives.

Qualifications

  • High school diploma or GED required; Associate degree or safety certification preferred.

  • 1–3 years of safety experience in construction, electrical, industrial, or manufacturing environments.

  • Knowledge of OSHA regulations and safety compliance standards.

  • OSHA 30 certification preferred.

  • First Aid / CPR certification preferred.

  • Proficient with standard office software (e.g., Microsoft Office) for documentation and reporting.

  • Valid driver’s license and willingness to travel to project sites as needed.

  • Strong observation, communication, and problem-solving skills.

  • Ability to work in field environments and travel between job sites as needed.

Physical Requirements

  • Ability to work outdoors in varying weather conditions.

  • Ability to walk job sites, climb ladders, and access elevated work areas.

  • Ability to lift up to 50 pounds occasionally.

  • Must be able to wear required PPE including hard hat, safety glasses, gloves, and fall protection equipment.

Work Environment

  • Field-based position working primarily on construction or industrial job sites.

  • May require extended hours, travel between job locations, and occasional weekend work depending on project needs.
