Job Description

Quanex is looking for a Waste Chemical Technician - 2nd shift to join our team located in Owatonna, Minnesota.

This position is directly responsible for ensuring continuous quality control of highly complex coating processes.

The hours for this role are Monday - Thursday from 3:30pm – 2:00am.

What Success Looks Like:

  • Accurately and consistently test chemical baths utilizing laboratory equipment and established testing procedures.
  • Maintain accurate and up to date records of testing results and chemistry adjustments.
  • Perform preventative maintenance on equipment as required by work order, check sheets or experience.
  • Maintain accurate and up to date records of equipment maintenance.
  • Oversee and monitor the startup and shut down of equipment.
  • At least 1 year of on-the-job training is required to perform the basics of this position. To handle all aspects of the job requires three years’ experience. 

What You Bring:

  • Must be reliable, cooperative, and a self-starter.
  • Attention to detail is highly important.
  • Knowledgeable of measurement tools and techniques.
  • Must be able to work in many positions including bending, reaching, stooping, pulling, pushing, walking and standing.
  • Must be able to wear a respirator. Facial hair or jewelry cannot interfere with the fit of the respirator.

The pay rate for this position is $26.00 per hour.
