FRC Summer Program Preschool Teacher

Position Overview:
The FRC Summer Program Teacher will be responsible for overseeing the Summer Preschool Program.  The Summer Preschool Teacher supervises the teacher assistant in the classroom.  The Head Teacher is responsible for curriculum plans for the Summer Preschool Program and works closely with the Director of the FRC..

Key Responsibilities:

• Planning and executing developmentally appropriate  activities, curriculum and activities, meeting Connecticut Early Learning and Development Standards
• provide the FRC Director with detailed weekly lesson plans, including learning objectives for the upcoming week
• use daily observation to individualize learning plans
• Identify and communicate to the FRC Director the materials needed for activities
• Adapting the classroom to accommodate children with special needs
• Identifying and reporting students that display signs of developmental delays
• Communicate with parents through weekly communications
• Promoting positive self-esteem in children as evident in expected outcomes
• Maintain a safe, orderly, and respectful learning environment
• Report broken and unsafe equipment
• Document and report incidents and accidents to the FRC Director

Minimum Qualifications:

• Bachelor of Arts or Science degree in Early Childhood Education, child development or a related field
• Special Education degree or experience a plus
• First Aid/CPR Certified
• Medication Administration trained )FRC will provide training)
• Strong written and oral communication skills
• Experience with supervision of staff and volunteers
