Rakuten Symphony CPaaS platform provides communication API’s to global and domestic enterprises in Japan over various channels such as SMS, Voice, Email & RCS.
We design and develop CPaaS services for enterprises. The CPaaS team is a dynamic and innovative team dedicated into providing high quality communication services to Enterprises. We are looking for a talented and expirienced Sales Manager to join our growing business team. The sales Manager will focus on selling CPaaS services to Japan domestic enterprises.

Position Details
Acquire New Enterprise Clients (Japan): Generate new sales by targeting medium to large Japanese enterprises that currently utilize SMS for customer communication. Manage the entire sales cycle from lead generation to deal closure.
Sales Cycle Management:
* Identify and qualify potential customers.
* Generate new leads through proactive outreach.
* Conduct customer meetings to understand their needs.
* Analyze customer business and technical requirements, aligning them with product capabilities and timelines.
* Negotiate business terms and finalize contracts to close deals.
Upsell to Existing Clients:
Proactively monitor customer satisfaction and maintain open communication to identify new needs and opportunities to increase customer lifetime value through upselling and cross-selling.
Consistently meet or exceed quarterly financial targets.
Commercial & Legal Management:
Lead commercial negotiations and manage legal processes in collaboration with the company's legal team.
Proactive Lead Generation & Relationship Building:
Continuously generate new leads and cultivate strong, long-term customer relationships to ensure ongoing success and identify future opportunities.
Customer Liaison:
Serve as the primary point of contact between the customer and the CPaaS team throughout the entire customer lifecycle, from initial sales to ongoing operations.
Cross-Functional Collaboration:
Work closely with Finance, Business Operations, and Engineering departments to ensure smooth business operations and optimal customer satisfaction.
Performance Monitoring:
Monitor customer performance (quality, costs, etc.) to ensure alignment with company targets and objectives.
Work Environment
Minimum Qualifications:
Experience: Minimum 3 years of direct sales experience in the enterprise communications market.
Industry Knowledge: Experience in the telecommunications, messaging, and/or SMS market is highly desirable.
Japanese Market Expertise: Proven experience in enterprise sales within the Japanese market.
Revenue Growth & Upselling: Demonstrated track record of consistently exceeding revenue targets from assigned accounts, with a proven ability to identify and capitalize on upsell and cross-sell opportunities.
Results-Oriented: Driven to achieve quarterly and annual revenue and margin targets effectively.
Negotiation Skills: Strong negotiation skills with a commercial mindset.
Communication Skills: Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to communicate effectively at all levels of an organization.
Language Skills: Native Japanese speaker; fluent in English. Proficiency in other languages is a plus.
Financial Acumen: Familiarity with finance and accounting procedures.
Collaboration & Relationship Management: Ability to collaborate effectively with multiple stakeholders and manage customer relationships.
Preferred Qualifications:
3 years and above of relevant experience, IT/Computers studies/degree is an advantage
