The Opportunity

Williams International has an exciting opportunity for an Ultrasonic Testing Technician to join our team.

The Ultrasonic Testing Technician will:

  1. Process aerospace hardware primarily using Immersion UT inspections as well as limited contact UT. This will include the use of turntable Immersion Linear arrays as well as traditional Immersion UT. Occasional contact UT using Linear Arrays and shearwave will be required.
  2. Process aerospace hardware primarily using Liquid penetrant.
  3. Strong computer skills will be necessary in order to learn multiple Ultrasonic Platforms.         
  4. Interpret UT inspections using C-Scan, B-Scan and A-Scan presentations.
  5. Read, understand and correctly interpret basic blueprint drawings as well as Williams International standards and specifications.
  6. Maintain accurate and reliable documentation.
  7. Must be able to follow written instructions.
  8. Visually inspects parts prior to UT inspection to ensure they are free of burrs or damaged surfaces.
  9. Maintain proper identification of parts throughout inspection process.
  10. Communicate change of shift requirements to ensure team members receive accurate and reliable information and documentation.
  11. Perform routine maintenance of machines and equipment operated.
  12. Self-motivated and capable of keeping workflow moving.
  13. Train new hires.
  14. Create, program and write NDT part specific technique.

Qualifications

High School or GED, 2 to 3 years minimum experience certified Level 2 per SNT-TC-1A, NAS 410 or equivalent in Ultrasonic Immersion / Contact (Type 1 and 2). Effective interaction with team members, customers and all levels of management. Reads, understands and correctly interprets basic blueprint drawings.

  • Must be capable of lifting 50 lbs. from floor to waist.
    (Note – must use a lift assist or assistance from other individual(s) when lifting in excess of 50 lbs.)
  • Must be capable of pushing or pulling a weight of 60 lbs.
  • Must have grip strength of at least 50 lbs.
  • U.S. citizenship is required.
