LCAP INTERVENTION SUPPORT SPECIALIST - HIGH SCHOOL


 


 


THE POSITION


 


Under the guidance of Educational Support Services and the general supervision of the Principal, assists with the coordination of intervention and supplemental programs including intervention and the AVID program.

  • Educational Support Services Director

  • Principal


 


 


EXAMPLES OF DUTIES


 


The duties listed are typical, but not exclusive:


 



  • Coordinate the Advancement Via Individual Determination (AVID) Program and responsibility of planning, implementing, coordinating, and maintaining assigned goals and objectives related to AVID Programs at the High School.

  • Provide support to site teachers and site/district administrators involved in the implementation, development, and expansion of AVID as a cornerstone for school-wide restructuring.

  • Assist in the management of all program components related to the program infrastructure and LEA responsibilities.

  • Provide support and coordination to site Counseling Specialist and site supplemental specialists.

  • Provide support for all supplemental programs and activities, and work collaboratively with the Special Programs Department to ensure compliance, training, and protocols are followed.

  • Attend District & site professional development and trainings

  • With the Family Engagement Specialist and Counseling Specialist, coordinate, plan and hold meetings with EL parents to generate interest and establish a site ELAC.



  • Relate to at-risk students and English learners with mutual respect.



  • Maintain a commitment to ongoing growth in self and others, supporting and participating in District and site professional growth programs.



  • Build strong relationships and collaborate with at-risk students and English learner parent support groups.

  • Assist with emergency situations and cooperation with staff and public safety agencies.



  • Other related duties as assigned.


 


 


QUALIFICATIONS GUIDE


 



  • Valid California Teaching Credential.

  • Three or more years of teaching experience.

  • Valid California Driver’s License.

  • Exceptional written and oral communication skills.

  • Exceptional interpersonal skills.



  • Knowledge of local policies, state and federal laws relating to minors, especially English learners and minors.

  • Demonstrate a positive attitude toward job and remain a flexible and innovative team builder.

SALARY:                              Certificated Salary Schedule “A”
