As a vital member of the Part-Time Cafeteria Staff at Bridgerland Technical College, you will support the Culinary Arts department by ensuring the seamless operation of the customer serving area. Your responsibilities will include a variety of tasks essential for the set-up, delivery, and serving of food, contributing to an enjoyable dining experience for students and faculty alike. What you need to be successful

To excel as a Part-Time Cafeteria Staff member at Bridgerland Technical College, you will need a blend of customer service skills and practical abilities. A strong commitment to providing a customer-friendly environment is essential, including greeting and acknowledging every patron to ensure an outstanding experience. Knowledge of food service standards and solid product information will enhance your interactions while delivering meals. You should be adept at setting up stations with breads, condiments, and utensils, as well as serving and replenishing food efficiently.

The role requires physical stamina for lifting and moving supplies and equipment and maintaining cleanliness in adherence to regulatory standards. Familiarity with safety and sanitation protocols is crucial as you assist with daily cleanup and ensure all food items are prepared and presented according to established guidelines. Your attention to detail and ability to follow verbal instructions will contribute to the high quality of service that defines our cafeteria operations.

Knowledge and skills required for the position are:

  • Provide a customer-friendly environment that includes greeting and acknowledging every customer, maintaining outstanding standards, solid product knowledge, and all other components of customer service.
  • Provide the highest quality of service to customers at all times. Interact with customers when delivering food products, and assist customers with any needs related to service.
  • Set up stations with breads, condiments, and utensils; serve and replenish food from counters and steam tables and break down stations at the end of meal periods following verbal instructions.
  • Brew coffee and tea, lift and move supplies, equipment, furniture, and food.
  • Clean and sanitize work stations, counters, steam tables, and other equipment; assist in the dish room and follow all college and regulatory rules and procedures.
  • Prepare all menu items using established departmental policies and procedures.
  • Assure that presentation of all menu items adhere to established standards.
  • Assure that all menu items are prepared according to established policies and procedures.
  • Keep fridges and freezers clean and orderly.
  • Assist in the daily cleanup of the kitchen and service areas.
  • Perform other duties as assigned.
