We are looking for an independent, strategic, and flexible mid-level Legal Counsel who will thrive in a fast-paced and dynamic environment.
This position reports into and will work closely with senior counsel supporting the company’s professional services offerings, assisting with client deal negotiations and agreements across APAC. This role is ideal for a commercial lawyer with strong drafting capabilities who enjoys hands-on contract negotiation and drafting work in a collaborative in-house setting, providing practical and business-focused guidance and support to internal business stakeholders as well as working alongside other regional legal teams.
The role requires a balance of legal expertise, commercial acumen, and strong stakeholder engagement, and the ability to apply the law to novel situations and to find pragmatic and creative solutions to business issues where appropriate.
Role tasks and responsibilities
• Draft, review, and negotiate commercial contracts, including client service agreements and vendor contracts. You will be expected to join negotiations with internal teams and clients on commercial contracts and other legal agreements, concluding commercial terms to align with company policies and objectives as well as mitigate potential risks involved with specific contract terms.
• Liaise with account managers and regional business line leads, amongst others throughout the company, to ensure correct implementation of all legal guidelines and other policies. You will act as a trusted advisor to the internal stakeholders and make sure that compliance can be ensured.
• Advise on regulatory obligations affecting business across APAC. Ensure compliance with local requirements relating but not limited to data privacy (e.g., PDPA), anti bribery, competition laws. Implement global legal/compliance policies at the regional level and ensure local adaptations where necessary.
• Stay current on relevant industry, commercial, IP, privacy, data, employment, and other laws, regulations, and developments to adapt our commercial processes accordingly.
