About the Opportunity
The MDM Data Steward maintains and improves master data quality to support our cross-functional teams and enterprise systems. This role focuses on executing data quality processes, resolving data issues, and ensuring data accuracy across MDM and downstream systems, including data warehouse and reporting platforms.
The MDM Data Steward is highly organized, detail-oriented, and curious about solving data problems. This individual works closely with business users and technical teams to validate, correct, and enrich data, ensuring it is accurate, reliable, and trusted for business decision-making.
What you’ll get to do
- Manage and maintain critical master data in one or more domains (company, person, product, etc.) used across enterprise systems
- Execute data quality checks and validation processes within MDM system(s)
- Identify, investigate, and resolve data quality issues, including duplicates, inconsistencies, and incomplete records
- Perform root cause analysis of data issues and coordinate resolution with upstream and downstream teams
- Validate and reconcile data across MDM, 3rd party enrichment, public domain, data warehouse (e.g., Azure Synapse), and reporting outputs to ensure consistency and accuracy
- Use SQL and other tools to analyze data and identify discrepancies across systems
- Support data validation activities for data loads, integrations, and changes
- Perform manual research using approved external sources to verify and enhance data accuracy
- Update and maintain master data based on validated enrichment and research findings
- Apply and enforce data standards, definitions, and business rules
- Support documentation of data definitions, data sources, and standard procedures
- Monitor and report on data quality metrics and trends
- Resolve data quality issues in various enterprise systems, including conducting manual data research from approved sources
- Trace the causes of data issues and support implementation of preventative measures
- Collaborate with business teams, data engineering, and the MDM platform team to ensure data accuracy and proper usage
- Respond to data-related questions and support business users in understanding and using data correctly
Skills and experience we value
- 1–3 years in Data Quality, Data Stewardship, Data Operations, or related experience
- Strong attention to detail and ability to manage tasks independently
- Experience working with multiple data sources to identify and validate accurate data
- Experience working with enterprise systems such as Salesforce and/or NetSuite
- Familiarity with Excel, SQL, and other Microsoft tools
- Basic understanding of data quality concepts and data validation processes
What would really make you stand out
- Experience with third-party data providers such as D&B or ZoomInfo
- Experience working with master data or MDM tools (Informatica preferred)
- Familiarity with data warehouses or cloud data platforms (e.g., Azure Synapse)
- Exposure to data definitions, business glossaries, or data governance concepts
