Position Overview

CARIAN is seeking a motivated and detail-oriented individual to join our team as a Junior Construction and Outage Sequencer. This entry-level role is an opportunity for a candidate with a strong work ethic and a desire to learn to develop a career in the critical field of construction and outage management. The successful candidate will support our construction and outage sequencing process, assisting with the scheduling and coordination of transmission system projects.

This position focuses on learning and applying constructability principles to help ensure the efficient execution of maintenance and upgrades while minimizing downtime. Working closely with senior team members, you will be a key part of our efforts to ensure projects are completed safely, efficiently and on time.

Responsibilities

· Demonstrating a strong commitment to all aspects of safety

· Assist in the planning and sequencing of outage phases, helping to align tasks with constructability principles.

· Support the evaluation of the feasibility of each outage phase, learning to identify potential constructability issues.

· Help with the allocation of resources, including labor, equipment and materials, to each outage phase to ensure optimal use.

· Collaborate with other departments to learn how outage sequencing is coordinated with project timelines and operational constraints.

· Assist in monitoring outage progress, identifying issues or delays and communicating them to the team.

· Contribute to maintaining records and documentation related to outage sequencing.

· Maintaining a questioning attitude.

· Learn, promote and uphold all safety standards, expectations, and protocols during outage sequencing and execution consistent with utility and CARIAN standards.

Qualifications

· Junior’s or bachelor’s degree, or current enrollment in a program such as electrical engineering technology, energy management, relay technician training or a related technical field is a plus. We will also consider candidates with a high school diploma and a demonstrated aptitude for this type of work.

· A strong desire to learn about outage sequencing, construction processes and system operations.

· Proficient computer skills with Microsoft Office products, such as Excel and Word.

· An aptitude for understanding technical principles and resource management.

· Excellent communication and teamwork skills, with a positive and collaborative attitude.

· Eagerness to learn scheduling and project management tools.

· Ability to work independently, manage multiple tasks and a strong desire to grow with the company.

· Demonstrated interpersonal skills

· Must have effective communication skills, both oral and written

· Works safely according to company policies and procedures

· Valid driver license.
