The Intern for IT Infrastructure and Security will be a currently enrolled college student, maintaining at least a 3.0 GPA in a Computer Science/Information Security area of study. They will provide support in the information security or IT infrastructure are of the organization by working with the current team to mitigate risk, strengthens defenses, and reduces vulnerabilities through the support of development, internal and client facing systems and products. This includes working with current team members that implement strategies and solutions to improve the security posture of the company. Further, this position provides entry level support to the technology services organization and the platform, network, and database teams. Also, receives direction and guidance from members within this organization. Work with current team members on areas of focus to contribute to continuous improvements driven through metrics in availability, capacity and performance for all critical platforms.
Responsibilities
- Support the strategic vision of the information security area.
- Learn IT security policies and procedures to improve the InfoSec posture of the company.
- Work with current team members to assess and support the implementation of security solutions including areas such as such as intrusion detection, vulnerability scanning, patch management, penetration testing and others.
- Work with current team members that support monitoring, maintenance, installation, upgrade, and support of IT infrastructure and/or security systems
- Support the drive of continuous improvements
- Learn to support the best practice of asset management/inventory for IT hardware, software, and equipment, and assure this is in adherence of the appropriate InfoSec policies.
- Keep current with the latest InfoSec and IT technologies
- Manage third party relationships, including hardware/software vendors and outside consultants to ensure levels of service and efficient use of external resources to further the InfoSec strategy.
- Other duties as identified by the SVP of IT and assigned team member.
Qualifications
- Current College Student with a minimum 3.0 GPA

- Ability to communicate at all levels
- Understanding of computing technologies including PC usage, windows, and printing configuration, including productivity software (MS Word, Excel, PowerPoint, etc).
- Requires the ability to work out of the assigned office location 4 days a week.
We are excited to share the base hourly rate for this position is $18/hour. NFI takes into consideration applicants' qualifications, experience, education, geographic location, when determining a starting rate of pay.
