Job Description

We are searching for a meticulous inventory controller to manage the inventory for our company. In this role, you will be required to perform regular inventory audits and analyses, investigate differences to actual on-hand quantities, make system quantity adjustments as necessary, research min-max quantities for all items and implement and maintain reporting, other duties as may be assigned. To ensure success as an inventory controller, you should be highly organized and have detailed knowledge of supply chain management software and practices.

 

Inventory Controller Responsibilities:



  • Perform regular cycle counting of inventory
  • Perform general inventory control tasks and year-end special tasks, all in a timely and accurate manner
  • Accurately enter inventory, receiving and shipping data and adjustments into the computer system
  • Perform counts and ensure all inventory is accounted for and reported according to company policy
  • Investigate and correct discrepancies in reported quantities and locations of all inventories
  • Manage cycle counts of product inventories on a regular basis
  • Lead others in safe work practices, especially when in a distribution center environment
  • Coordinate with customer service and logistics departments
  • Check date-sensitive products for expiration and facilitate removal or transfer of product as needed
  • Perform process and system testing and track performance by area to locate and solve problems in data integrity, productivity, and efficiency
  • Train other employees in asset inventory management as needed
  • Arrange warehouse space as required for various materials
  • Ensure that the warehouse is clean and maintained at all times
  • Find new and better ways of doing things; to improve operations, methods and procedures; propose significant and constructive ideas for innovation
  • Contribute to team effort by performing other tasks as appropriate and/or necessary



Inventory Controller Requirements:



  • High school diploma or GED
  • Good analytical and logistical thinking abilities
  • High attention to detail
  • Able to perform basic tasks on a computer
  • Self-motivated and self-directed, requiring minimal oversight to meet objectives and timelines
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills
  • Exceptional collaboration and negotiation abilities
  • Excellent time management and organizational skills
