GPI is seeking a Land Surveying Project Manager to join our team in the Salem, NH office. You will be responsible for managing land surveying projects throughout the New England region. This is a great opportunity for a project manager who enjoys being engaged in all aspects of a survey project, from preparing proposals to delivering the final work product.

What You’ll Be Doing (Responsibilities):

  • Manage survey projects from inception to final deliverables
  • Prepare proposals and cost estimates
  • Perform deed and plan research at local municipalities, as well as county, state, and federal agencies.
  • Manage and coordinate survey projects with multiple team members
  • Provide guidance and direction to survey technicians
  • Perform survey computations and boundary resolution for boundary and ALTA Surveys, Aerial and Topographic Surveys with utility locations including pipe inverts and sizes, Construction Layout and As-Built Surveys, Right-of-Way Surveys, and various other project types
  • Prepare project invoices and analyze project budgets

What You Bring to the Table:

  • A minimum of 6 years of experience in field and office aspects of land surveying
  • Professional survey licensure preferred, LSIT is a plus
  • Experience in all aspects of Land Surveying (Site Civil, Utilities, Energy & Public Transportation Agencies a plus)
  • Experience with robotic total stations, GPS, leveling, field procedures, boundary analysis, and resolution
  • Expertise in Civil3D is required.
  • Knowledge of MicroStation, TopoDOT, and Pix4D is a plus
  • Familiarity with MassDOT / MaineDOT / NHDOT survey standards is a plus
  • SUE experience is a plus

Requirements

  • Maintain a valid driver's license with a clean motor vehicle report (MVR) for final consideration
  • Possess a personal vehicle for use on or around a job site
  • Read, write, and understand plans and directions given in the English language
  • Basic computer skills with the ability to create and edit Microsoft Word and Excel documents, create Outlook emails and utilize SharePoint and Microsoft Teams to communicate with other team members
  • Able to stand for approximately 3 hours minimum a day up to 8 hours
  • Able to traverse a construction job site consisting of uneven ground varying in height and consistency of material, with a variation of elevation 19" or less (mud, gravel, rutted ground, etc.)
  • Able to wear GPI required PPE, i.e., hard hats, safety vest, work boots, and/or safety glasses/goggles while working 
  • Able to move equipment or inspection specimens weighing up to 50 pounds
