Job Description

Purpose of the Role

Define and execute sourcing strategies by category to ensure availability, competitiveness, and optimal supply conditions for GCC, aligned with the company’s financial, operational, and sustainability goals. The Commodity Manager is responsible for spend analysis, developing and executing negotiation strategies, establishing framework agreements, and managing key supplier relationships, ensuring that economic benefits (savings) and service levels are measurable and sustainable over time. This is a strategic role within the Procurement model, working in close collaboration with the Purchasing Manager, the Planning & Normativity CoE (PYN), and operational and financial areas.

Key Responsibilities

  • Develop and implement sourcing strategies by category aligned with business goals and corporate Procurement policies.
  • Analyze total spend (Total Cost of Ownership) and identify opportunities for savings, efficiency, and risk mitigation.
  • Negotiate contracts, pricing, commercial terms, and supply conditions with strategic and critical suppliers.
  • Evaluate and qualify suppliers, ensuring competitiveness and compliance with technical, legal, financial, and ESG standards.
  • Establish framework agreements and coordinate implementation with Purchasing teams and end users.
  • Monitor supplier performance through quality, compliance, delivery, service, and sustainability KPIs.
  • Document, quantify, and validate economic benefits (savings) derived from negotiations in coordination with Finance and PYN CoE.
  • Lead bidding processes, RFPs, and market benchmarking within assigned categories.
  • Identify technological or market innovations that create added value for GCC.
  • Collaborate with the Planning & Normativity CoE (PYN) to maintain updated policies, procedures, and negotiation tools.
  • Ensure adherence to Compliance, Code of Ethics, and ESG guidelines in all negotiations.
  • Support training and capability building for personnel involved in negotiation or procurement activities.

Key Relationships

**Internal:** Head of Negotiation / Negotiation Manager, Purchasing Manager, PYN CoE (Process Owner Purchasing & Sourcing), Finance and Internal Control, Legal, Operations, Maintenance, Production, Supply Chain, and Logistics.

**External:** Strategic and critical suppliers, industry associations and benchmarking groups, external consultants or auditors.

Profile Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree in Engineering, Business Administration, Economics, or related field; Master’s degree preferred.
  • Minimum of 5 years of experience in negotiation or category management within industrial environments.
  • Proven experience in achieving and reporting savings (Savings & Benefits).
  • Advanced knowledge of spend analysis tools and e-procurement platforms.
  • Strong analytical, negotiation, and stakeholder management skills.
