Job Summary:




The Department of Transplant Nephrology at SUNY Downstate Health Sciences University is seeking a full-time Transplant Nephrologist, Clinical Assistant Professor (HS). The successful candidate will:



  • Be responsible for medical management of inpatient and outpatient kidney transplant patients, including allograft biopsies.


  • Evaluate potential transplant candidates and donors.



  • Contribute actively to policy making for the transplant service and attend transplant-related administrative meetings.



  • Actively participate in the development of a pancreas transplantation program.



  • Render consultative inpatient and outpatient nephrology services and ESRD management.



  • Actively participate in educational activities for the renal division.



  • Actively participate in research.







Required Qualifications:





  • New York State Medical License.

  • Medical Doctor Degree.

  • Board Certified in Internal Medicine. 

  • Board Certified in Nephrology.


  • Completion of Fellowship in Transplant Nephrology in an Accredited UNOS/AST Center.



  • Experience in renal ultrasound and real-time ultrasound-guided kidney biopsies.



  • Experience in pre- and post-operative medical management of the pancreas transplant recipient. 



  • Must demonstrate the ability to conduct basic or clinical investigation.
