    Report To: Director of Student Serevices 

    Licensure:  Illinois Type 73 licensure  

    Primary Function:  To support school personnel and families in the acquisition and maintenance of optimal learning outcomes for students by utilizing skills in problem solving, social/emotional/behavioral assessment and intervention, data collection and data analysis, consultation and collaboration, crisis management, and conflict resolution; to create a safe, nurturing, and stimulating classroom environment conducive to learning and social emotional growth for students; and to establish positive relationships with students, families, staff members, and the greater school community.    

    Essential Duties and Responsibilities:
    Demonstrates knowledge of students and child/adolescent development  
    Collaborates with teachers to assess, problem solve, and develop strategies to meet the behavioral and instructional needs of students
    Participate on IEP teams and in the development of meaningful, objective, and measurable IEP goals
    Assists students and teachers in formulating academic, personal/social, and career plans based on student needs
    Conducts functional behavior assessments and develop behavior intervention plans
    Implements individual and group interventions that promote positive social, emotional, behavioral, and independent functioning outcomes
    Engages in professional growth and development activities  
    Shows professionalism in dealing with others  
    Performs related duties as assigned by the administration  
    Serves as a member of the building student assistance team and crisis team
    Obtains and maintains certification in District approved crisis management, conflict resolution, and physical intervention training Physical Demands:
    Work requires definite skilled and accurate physical operations requiring some closely coordinated performance
    Work requires handling average weight materials or equipment

    Term of Employment: 180 day contract  

    Salary Range: See Collective Bargaining Agreement
