In consultation with the Building Principal and Director of Math and Science, the STEM Integrator/Instructional Coach works with all K-5 Instructional Staff to ensure that each student in the Salem School District receives developmentally appropriate instruction to maximize learning in the areas of Mathematics, Science, and Computer Science.
The STEM Integrator/Instructional Coach supports and coordinates Mathematics and Science Instruction, from Kindergarten through 5th Grade, and Co-Teaches Computer Science (Coding and Robotics), in 1st through 5th Grade. This work includes Co-Planning, Co-Teaching, and Coaching individual and small groups of classroom teachers, as well as coordinating curriculum, instruction, and assessment efforts with District Literacy Specialists and Special Education Team.
The STEM Integrator/Instructional Coach collaborates with teams of other Specialists and Coaches from across the District to provide school and district-wide professional development, job-embedded professional development, and to promote reflective practice and data-driven decision making.
The STEM Integrator/Instructional Coach also mentors and onboards new classroom instructional staff.
