Job Description
Role Overview:

The Technician, Facilities Maintenance supports the efficient operation of our warehouse facilities. This hands-on role involves performing a variety of maintenance and repair tasks in the areas of heating, ventilation and air conditioning, plumbing, structural, energy management, fire suppression system, and electrical equipment. The role continuously supports facilities operations with the goal of reducing downtime including, but not limited to building maintenance, related systems, and equipment. The Technician, Facilities Maintenance is responsible for contracted activities that assist and support the facility including building modifications, routine maintenance, and unplanned repairs.



Duties & Responsibilities:

Facilities Maintenance

    • Responsible for assessing, maintaining, and resolving a wide-range of maintenance concerns related to electrical, mechanical, building and facility systems
    • Perform routine and preventative maintenance as well as operational inspections related to facility systems including heating, ventilation, and air conditioning (HVAC) equipment, plumbing, electrical, generator equipment, fire systems equipment and elevators
    • Support energy conservation by monitoring and adjusting building energy management systems for optimal efficiency
    • Work closely with outside vendors and contractors on scheduled and unscheduled repairs
    • Perform scheduled and unscheduled repairs within the areas of plumbing, welding, carpentry, drywall, mudding, painting, and electrical
    • Read and interpret building drawings, as-builts, one-line diagrams and schematics
    • Accurately track and store inventory of spare parts, tools, and equipment
    • Support and carry out office and warehouse set-up activities and support workspace improvement activities
    • Participate in facility emergency response activities (inclement, severe weather, spill, releases, etc.)
    • Respond promptly to maintenance requests and prioritize tasks based on urgency. Escalate more complex issues as needed.
    • Performs other duties or projects as assigned by Facilities Manager and/or Senior Technicians

Support Environmental, Safety, and Health Objectives

    • Comply with all safety training requirements, procedures, and OSHA regulations
    • Maintain a clean and orderly work area and take action to eliminate unsafe work conditions
    • Perform facilities work in a safe and responsible manner


Experience & Qualifications:

Education

    • High School Diploma (or G.E.D.)

Experience

Minimum 4 years

    • Proven experience working in facility maintenance within a Manufacturing or Distribution Environment

Software/Technical Skills

    • MS Office (Outlook, Word, Excel, PowerPoint)
    • Building Management Systems software
    • Fire Systems & Access Controls Systems
    • Ability to read and interpret electrical, plumbing, and mechanical drawings
Other Skills/Knowledge/Abilities
    • Working knowledge of multiple building systems
    • Strong communication skills (verbal, written, interpersonal)
    • Strong initiative and engagement to build strong working relationships
    • Strong organizational skills
    • Problem solving with the ability to diagnose issues and develop effective solutions
    • Experience operating powered industrial trucks and facility equipment (forklifts, aerial lifts, etc.)
    • Ability to operate “hands-on” to support facilities operations timely and effectively
    • Willingness to work flexible hours and respond to emergencies outside of regular working hours
    • Team player with the ability to escalate complex facilities issues to more senior members of the team

This role will be an onsite role. You are expected to work from the stated job location 5 days a week. #LI-ONSITE

Base Salary 

  • The targeted base salary range for this position is $21.63 - $26.44 hourly.
  • Base salary is determined by the education, experience, knowledge, skills, and abilities of the successful candidate, as well as factors such as internal equity, cost of labor in the hiring location, and alignment with market data.

Additional Compensation

    • Not a Bonus Eligible Role: This role is not eligible to participate in Brother's bonus incentive plan. The base pay accounts for the entirety of the role's annual cash compensation.
