    Position Title: Elementary Reading Specialist
    Location: Homyak PK-8 School
    Work Year: 2026�2027 School Year
    Start Date: August 5, 2026
    Reports To: Building Principal


    SUMMARY:

    The  Reading Specialist provides targeted literacy instruction and intervention services to support students in developing strong reading and writing skills. The specialist collaborates with classroom teachers to implement research-based instructional strategies, monitor student progress, and ensure student achievement aligned with Colorado Academic Standards.


    SALARY RANGE:

    $47,750 � $103,021

    • Full credit given for years of experience and education
    • May qualify for up to five additional steps based on experience and education
    • Tuition reimbursement opportunities available

    QUALIFICATIONS:

    • Bachelor's Degree in Elementary Education required
    • Valid Colorado Teaching License in Elementary Education required
    • Reading Specialist (K�12) endorsement required or ability to obtain
    • Demonstrated knowledge of Colorado standards, assessments, and data-driven instruction
    • Proven ability to support student academic success in English Language Arts
    • Strong background in teaching reading and writing
    • Ability to collaborate effectively as part of a team
    • Experience working with diverse student populations
    • Technology proficiency preferred
    • Experience with push-in and pull-out intervention models preferred
    • Coaching opportunities may be available

    ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS:

    • Provide targeted literacy intervention to individual students and small groups
    • Deliver standards-based reading instruction and intervention services
    • Use assessment data to identify student needs and monitor progress
    • Collaborate with classroom teachers to support literacy instruction
    • Maintain accurate records of student performance and interventions
    • Communicate effectively with families and staff
    • Participate in professional development and team meetings
