A Field Service Technician at Smith and Loveless operates autonomously, utilizing all the mechanical and electrical resources and support provided by the company. In addition to the factory's support, their previous technical knowledge and experience will become essential to help troubleshoot and resolve our client’s needs. The work will be centered around wastewater and pumping systems, onsite at the client's location.

Job duties
- Start up and troubleshoot S & L equipment in the field.
- Communicate with various customer/site personnel and S&L Engineering, Field Service, Warranty, and Sales personnel during the start-up and troubleshooting.
- Train customer personnel in the operation and maintenance of their S&L equipment.
- Prepare detailed field reports describing equipment problems or issues relevant to S&L equipment operation and design.
- Complete expense reports and start up reports in a timely fashion.
- Act as a general technical resource on S&L equipment for internal S&L departments and outside customers.
- Answer customer’s correspondence regarding equipment issues.
- Assist other Field Service Engineers as necessary for start-up and troubleshooting.
- Assist with training new field service engineers in the field.
- Ensure that start-ups are complete within the allowed cost and that warranty and back charges are minimized.
- Keep office area, storage area, and vehicles neat and clean.
- Other duties as assigned by Customer Service Manager.
