Description

The Pre-Wire Technician’s responsibilities include assembling electrical systems or support structures as well as using rivets, bolts, soldering to install components, units, sub-assemblies, and wiring or assembly casings.

Requirements

Duties & Responsibilities 

 

  • Wire custom control panels per detailed schematics: hard wire equipment per drawings 

  • Perform pre-wiring of motors, photo eyes, sensors, measuring wheels, and terminates wiring at the control panel 

  • Clean parts using solutions, air hoses and cloths 

  • Adjust, repair or replace electrical component parts to correct defects and to ensure conformance to specifications 

  • Comply with all company policies and procedures, including safety and maintaining good housekeeping around the panel shop. 

  • Must show the ability to stand for long periods of time in one place (at least 9 to 10 hours per day). 

  • Be able to identify and remove defective components to report to supervisor for replacement or re-order. 

  • Must pay close attention to detail when wiring panels for clean and neat work. 

  • Must be able to take constructive criticism/orders from supervisor on all electrical projects.  

  • Be able to comply with all required hours asked to work including overtime/weekends for jobs to meet ship dates. 

  • Be able to work well with others in close vicinity and have strong teamwork skills. 

  • Additional duties may be assigned by management. 

 

Education Requirements 

 

  • High school diploma or GED candidates  

  • Experience with HVAC Installation or low voltage electrical is a plus. 

 

Technical Skills 

 

  • Must be able to read a tape measure. 

  • Ability to read electrical schematics 

  • Must be detail-oriented and able to multitask 

  • Ability to work well with others
