Job Description

North Reading High School is seeking a Math Teacher to serve as a long-term substitute from tentatively now through June 24, 2026 (end of the 2025-2026 school year). North Reading Public Schools is actively looking to build a diverse workforce to ensure all students feel welcome, safe, and valued for who they are and supported to reach their potential.


 


Essential duties 



  • Unit/lesson planning 

  • Direct instruction of students

  • Assessment of student learning

  • Be available to conference with parents and families as needed or requested

  • Work closely with our team of teachers in the Math Department to ensure pacing and learning expectations are maintained

  • Other duties as requested by the Building Principal, Coordinator of STEM Education, and/or Designee


 Requirements



  • Bachelor's Degree in a related field

  • Massachusetts Department of Elementary and Secondary Education teaching license in Mathematics, grades 8-12

  • Strong interpersonal skills

  • Collaborative working demeanor

  • Excellent oral and written communication skills 

  • At least 3 years of relevant experience preferred

  • Citizenship, residency, or work visa required
