Position Summary

The position of Custodian performs janitorial and general maintenance duties across the organization to maintain a clean and desirable appearance of the NTMWD campus.

 

Job Resposibilities

 

  • Provides janitorial services in the Administration and Operations Buildings.   
  • Sweeps, mops, waxes, and polishes floors; washes walls and woodwork; dusts furniture, piping, valves, etc.  
  • Washes and polishes windows and metal surfaces.  
  • Empties waste cans.  
  • Performs general custodial duties on grounds, including picking up litter and sweeping walks.  
  • Reports any repairs or adjustments required to Custodial Crewleader. 
  • May restock consumables like coffee, vending machines and similar. 
  • May be required to work overtime as needed. 

Job Requirements

Education & Experience:

  • Must possess a high school diploma or G.E.D. 

 

Knowledge, Skills & Abilities:

 

  • Good physical condition; stamina; some dexterity with fingers and hands; ability and willingness to follow instructions. 
  • Demonstrated reliability and honesty. 
  • Knowledge of general building maintenance is a plus. 
  • General mechanical duties desired. 

Environmental and Physical Working Conditions

Driving a District vehicle for business will be required.  Employees required to drive as part of their job duties are responsible for maintaining a current, valid, and vehicle - appropriate driver' s license of their resident state.
