Part time PE teacher PS-8 

Part-Time PE Teacher, pre-school through 8th grade at St. Bernadette Parish School. Instruct students in motor skills, sportsmanship, and wellness while fostering physical development within a faith-based environment. The ideal candidate will foster a love of physical fitness while supporting the spiritual and academic mission of Catholic education. 

Reports to the Principal.

Key Responsibilities

• Curriculum Development & Instruction: Plan and deliver engaging, high-quality PE lessons that meet or exceed state and diocesan standards for all grade levels.

• Safety & Management: Establish a safe, organized, and positive learning environment, and monitor students during activities to prevent injury and manage behavior effectively.

• Catholic Formation: Model Christ-centered behavior, sportsmanship, and integrity, promoting wellness as part of a healthy, Catholic life.

• Assessment & Reporting: Regularly assess student performance, maintain accurate attendance and progress records, and communicate with parents and administration as needed.

• Facility & Equipment Care: Maintain PE equipment, inventory, and storage in a safe, orderly condition.

• Collaboration & Events: Work with staff to support school-wide events, such as Field Day, CYO sports programs, and wellness initiatives.

• Possible supervision of an elective class as determined by student interest.

Qualifications

• Education: Certification or instructional experience in Physical Education or related field.

• Experience: Previous experience teaching PE to elementary or middle school students.

• A willingness to support and model the Catholic mission and values of St. Bernadette Parish School.

• Skills: Strong classroom management, communication, and organizational skills. 

• Completion of required fingerprinting and Virtus training 

Physical Demands

• Ability to actively instruct, demonstrate skills, and supervise students in both indoor and outdoor settings, which may include carrying and moving equipment, bending, stooping, and running.  

Compensation: $22,667-$34,510 Usually not benefits-eligible. Any offered salary is determined based on internal equity, internal salary ranges, market data, applicant's skills and prior relevant experience, degrees, and certifications.
