Compensation: $18/hourly

 

Job Overview: 

We are looking for motivated and dependable individuals to join our team. Our ideal candidate has a strong interest in pursuing this trade as a career and is excited to learn skills and gain experience to accomplish that goal. Under the direction of a Journeyman Low Voltage Technician a Low Voltage apprentice performs skilled work in the installation, maintenance and repair of special systems, networks, copper cabling, fiber cabling and equipment on commercial and industrial projects. Duties include working with tools, installing self-supporting cable pathways, cabling, fiber splice terminations, Cat 6 terminations, relay panels, labor activities as assigned. Must keep all materials, tools, and equipment in an orderly fashion, always maintain a clean work area, demonstrate safe work habits and exhibit proper care of all tools and equipment. Assignments are received from, and the work is performed under the general supervision of journeyman level Low Voltage Technicians. While construction experience is not required, we expect candidates to have some familiarity with hand and power tools. You must be able to follow directions, climb heights, travel, and be willing to help with any aspect of a project. 

 

Key Tasks and Responsibilities: 

  • Measure, install and terminate cable.
  • Layout and install cable pathways.
  • Install, replace, and repair low voltage devices such as jacks and terminations.
  • Install and terminate access control panels, intrusion panels, and control relays.
  • Preparation, handling, and supplying of materials and tools be used by Low Voltage trades.
  • Maintain tools, vehicles, and equipment and keep parts and supplies in order.
  • Load / unload equipment and material.
  • Maintaining a clean and organized work area, tools, and equipment
  • Stage materials and equipment. 

Requirements

Minimum Requirements 

  • High school diploma or GED certificate
  • Must enroll to Low Voltage indentured program apprenticeship (ABC) after Evaluation/probation period.
  • Experience with reading blueprints.
  • Construction or low voltage experience a plus.
  • Skills with basic hand and power tools.
  • Physical stamina.
  • Reliable transportation.
  • Willingness to learn.
  • Willing to travel.
