The Boys & Girls Clubs of Mid Central Coast is currently recruiting team members for the 2026–2027 school year to serve at Santa Maria-Bonita School District (SMBSD) sites, including Bruce Elementary, Oakley Elementary, Fairlawn Elementary, and Bonita Elementary. Tentative start date June 16 - July 1.
JOB SUMMARY:
The Club Director / After School Site Coordinator (CD) serves as the on-site operational leader of a Boys & Girls Club program at a school or community-based site. This role is responsible for the daily execution of high-quality programs, safe operations, and strong member engagement, in alignment with BGCMCC standards and expectations.
The CD implements organizational strategy set by the Regional Club Director (RCD) / Area Club Director (ACD), ensuring programs meet quality standards, attendance goals (ADA), and all compliance requirements. This position directly supervises site staff and volunteers and is accountable for the consistency and quality of the member experience.
The CD serves as the primary site-level contact for school partners, families, and the community, while maintaining regular communication with and receiving direction from the RCD/ACD.

Level I
- Member Attendance Goal: 30-80 Average Daily Attendance (ADA)
- Team Member Oversight: 2-6 staff to supervise
- Wage Range: $23.50-$26.00 per hour
- Additional Complexity Factors: Headcount, Attendance Goal, Number of Services offered at the site, hours of service
Level II
- Member Attendance Goal: 81+ ADA
- Team Member Oversight: 7+ staff to supervise
- Wage Range: $26.50-$29.00 per hour
- Additional Complexity Factors: Headcount, Attendance Goal, Number of Services offered at the site, hours of service
Note: Job levels are determined by overall site complexity; ranges are guidelines and not absolute thresholds.
Program Execution & Site Operations
- Implement BGCMCC’s Youth Development Strategy through daily program delivery.
- Execute pre-developed program plans and ensure consistent, high-quality implementation.
- Ensure programs meet attendance (ADA) targets and engagement goals established by RCD/ACD.
- Maintain a safe, inclusive, and structured Club environment.
- Oversee daily schedules, activity flow, and staff assignments.
- Ensure facilities, equipment, and supplies are clean, organized, and properly maintained.
- Monitor participation and program quality; communicate trends and needs to RCD/ACD.
- Ensure accurate daily attendance tracking and program documentation.
- Enforce behavior management policies consistently.
Staff Supervision & Team Leadership
- Supervise, support, and coach site staff and volunteers.
- Assist with the hiring team for the Club site.
- Ensure staff are trained on program delivery, routines, and expectations.
- Provide ongoing feedback and support staff development.
- Manage staff schedules, attendance, and timesheets.
- Foster a positive team culture aligned with BGCMCC values.
- Escalate personnel concerns to RCD/ACD and HR as appropriate
Partnership & Communication
- Serve as the primary on-site contact for school staff, families, and community members.
- Maintain consistent communication with school administration to support alignment with school-day goals.
- Communicate regularly with RCD/ACD regarding site performance, challenges, and successes.
- Support family engagement and participation in Club activities.
Compliance & Administration
- Ensure site compliance with all BGCMCC policies, school agreements, and grant requirements.
- Maintain accurate records for attendance, programming, and reporting.
- Submit required reports and documentation in a timely manner.
- Responsible for site-level budget adherence and resource management (with oversight from RCD/ACD).
- Manage inventory and submit supply requests as needed.

KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS, AND ABILITIES:
LEVEL I
- At least 18 years of age. High School Diploma or GED required. Associate or Bachelor’s degree preferred
- Combination of education and experience related to position, with increasing responsibility, which may include but is not limited to:
- 1-2 years working in education/youth programming
- At least 1 year in supervisor or leadership position.
- Internal Candidates: Youth Development Foundation Level Learning Pathway completed preferred.
LEVEL II
- At least 18 years of age. High School Diploma or GED required. Bachelor’s degree preferred
- Combination of education and experience related to position, with increasing responsibility, which may include but is not limited to:
- 2-3+ years working in education/youth programming
- 2+ year in supervisor or leadership position, 3+ years preferred.
- AA or Vocational certificate related to the position.
- Internal Candidates: Youth Development Foundation Level Learning Pathway completed, Club Directors Orientation complete preferred, and Club Directors Academy complete preferred.

SPECIAL CONDITIONS OF EMPLOYMENT:
- Successful completion of background check
- Valid driver’s license (as required by site)
- CPR and First Aid certification within 90 days of hire
- Ability to pass school district requirements (if applicable)
- Availability for occasional evenings and weekends, including events and meetings

Hourly Rate Dependent on Experience/Educational Attainment and assigned CD level.
Physical Working Environment and Abilities:
Must be able to perform work in indoor and outdoor environments with exposure to varying noise levels and temperatures. Requires frequent standing, walking, sitting, bending, and use of hands for communication and basic tasks. Ability to occasionally climb, reach, and balance is needed. Must be able to lift and carry up to 50 pounds (frequently up to 20 pounds). Position requires travel between multiple sites. Must also be able to perform essential mental functions, including reading, writing, communicating, reasoning, and analyzing.
