As a trusted business partner, we help corporations, public sector organizations, and services and software providers achieve operational excellence and business growth through digital transformation, market intelligence, and industry best practices. Our services encompass research, benchmarking, consulting, and managed services, providing unparalleled insights into the evolving technology landscape. We partner with our clients to determine a future vision, lead rapid change and realize the value of their digital investments at scale. We’re more than consultants: We help our clients achieve operational excellence and faster growth.
Position Overview
We are seeking an experienced management consultant with strong expertise in technology sourcing, digital transformation, and AI. In this senior role, you will advise clients on how to design, source, and optimize their IT, cloud, and digital service environments. You will lead workstreams, manage client relationships, shape sourcing strategies end-to-end, and coach junior consultants.
This role is ideal for professionals who combine consulting discipline with sourcing know-how and want to take on broader responsibility, more client visibility, and a clear growth path within ISG. If you enjoy translating complex business needs into actionable sourcing and transformation strategies, this is an opportunity to make a tangible impact across industries.

Responsibilities
  • Lead client workstreams across sourcing and transformation programs covering IT, cloud, applications, digital operations, and managed services.
  • Design sourcing strategies, develop business cases, define requirements, and manage RfX processes from preparation to evaluation and negotiation.
  • Run vendor assessments and shape commercial and contractual models that balance value, cost, performance, and risk.
  • Leverage ISG market data, benchmarks, and AI-supported analyses to generate insights and guide client decisions.
  • Facilitate workshops and present clear, concise recommendations to senior stakeholders.
  • Provide structure, quality assurance, and coaching to junior team members.
  • Collaborate with international ISG teams across consulting, benchmarking, research, and managed services.
  • Contribute to proposals, thought leadership, and the enhancement of ISG’s sourcing methodologies in the DACH region.

Required Qualifications
  • 5–8 years of experience in management consulting, technology sourcing, IT strategy, vendor/contract management, or a related field.
  • Proven experience leading parts of sourcing or transformation initiatives, such as requirements definition, RfX development, supplier evaluation, commercial modeling, or contract negotiations.
  • Strong understanding of IT operations, cloud concepts, digital services, and modern delivery models.
  • Ability to engage confidently with senior stakeholders and translate technical topics into clear business recommendations.
  • Structured, analytical thinker with strong communication and presentation skills (German and English at C1+ level).
  • Hands-on, proactive, and capable of working both independently and in collaborative, international teams.
  • Experience mentoring junior consultants is an advantage.

What we offer
  • Projects that matter – helping clients across industries transform the way they operate.
  • Continuous development and on-the-job learning through direct exposure and mentorship.
  • Flexible, modern ways of working (primarily remote delivery).
  • Competitive salary, flexible holidays, sabbatical options, and a supportive culture.
  • A diverse and inclusive team where your ideas and perspectives are valued.

Education
  • Bachelor of Arts or Science degree in a technical or scientific field
  • MBA or another advanced degree (s) desirable
