OW HIRING: Dietary Aide (Long-Term Care)

We are seeking a reliable and caring Dietary Aide to join our long-term care dietary team. This role is ideal for someone who enjoys working in a fast-paced environment and takes pride in helping residents receive safe, nutritious, and well-presented meals each day.


POSITION SUMMARY

The Dietary Aide supports daily kitchen and dining operations by assisting with meal preparation, tray service, sanitation, and dishwashing duties. This position plays an important role in ensuring residents receive meals in a timely, safe, and respectful manner.

This role works under the direction of the Food Service Director or designated supervisor.


WHAT YOU’LL DO

  • Assist with preparing meals, snacks, and beverages
  • Assemble resident meal trays according to diet orders
  • Deliver and retrieve meal trays and food carts from resident areas
  • Ensure correct labeling and distribution of nourishments
  • Maintain cleanliness of kitchen, dining, and service areas throughout the shift
  • Wash, sanitize, and properly store dishes, utensils, and equipment
  • Follow dietary instructions, portion guidelines, and special diet requirements
  • Support smooth daily kitchen and dining room operations

FOOD SAFETY & CLEANLINESS

  • Follow all infection control and food safety procedures
  • Maintain a clean, sanitary, and organized work environment
  • Use proper handling, storage, and disposal methods for food items
  • Wear required PPE and follow safety protocols at all times
  • Report hazards, equipment issues, or sanitation concerns promptly

TEAMWORK & COMMUNICATION

  • Work collaboratively with dietary staff and supervisors
  • Communicate resident needs or concerns appropriately
  • Support a respectful and positive dining experience for residents
  • Assist with training, inspections, and facility requirements as needed

ADDITIONAL RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Follow all facility policies and procedures
  • Participate in required training and safety drills
  • Report incidents, injuries, or concerns immediately
  • Assist with emergency procedures if needed
  • Maintain confidentiality of resident information

REQUIREMENTS

  • Previous food service or healthcare experience preferred, not required
  • Ability to follow instructions and work as part of a team
  • Strong attention to cleanliness and detail
  • Ability to work in a fast-paced environment
  • Must be able to communicate effectively in English
  • High school diploma or equivalent preferred
