Job Description

Looking for a flexible job that keeps you on the move?  We’re seeking a reliable and friendly Part-Time Bus Driver to transport our high school students to athletic events, regional airports, weekend trips, and other school activities.

No CDL? No problem! We’ll pay for your CDL training and license.

 Primary Duties and Responsibilities

  • Operate Academy buses and vehicles to safely transport students and employees
  • Attend all Safety Program training; comply with all Academy Safety Program policies and procedures while performing job duties, both on and off Academy property
  • Attend professional development as needed to maintain current licensing and to learn new aspects of the trade.
  • Work schedule may include working any day of the week and/or evenings as needed

Other duties as assigned

Job Specifications
  • Completion of 12 grade or equivalent
  • 1-3 years’ experience driving buses preferred
  • Valid Massachusetts Class B Driver’s License with Air Brake and Passenger Endorsements
  • Successful completion/pass of required physical exams and ability to obtain updated DOT Medical Card
  • Willing participation in DOT Drug/Alcohol Training and Testing Program
  • Ability to perform repetitive motion tasks including driving
  • Ability and willingness to work a flexible schedule including nights and weekends
  • Possess good communication skills
  • Demonstrated commitment to diversity and inclusion, and to serving the needs of a diverse community

Physical Demands

  • Excellent visual acuity
  • Ability to perform heavy work, exerting up to 100 lbs. of force occasionally, up to 50 lbs. frequently, up to 20 lbs. constantly to move or carry objects
  • Ability to occasionally climb and balance on stepladders
  • Ability to frequently crouch, stoop, crawl, reach, push, pull and kneel
  • Ability to sit and stand for long periods of time
  • Ability to grasp and feel steering wheel and other equipment
  • Ability to talk and hear community members to receive instruction and ability to hear emergency siren
  • Ability to frequently perform repetitive motion tasks

 Working Conditions

  • Worker is frequently subject to outside environmental conditions including extreme cold (temperatures below 32°), and extreme heat (temperatures above 100°); consideration should be given to wind and humidity
  • Worker is frequently subject to noise
  •  Worker is occasionally subject to vibration, oscillating movements of extremities or whole body
  • Worker is frequently subject to hazards and atmospheric conditions including moving vehicles, moving mechanical parts, fumes, odors, and gases

Compensation:

$25.00-$30.00/hour, based on experience.
