Primary Duties and Responsibilities
- Operate Academy buses and vehicles to safely transport students and employees
- Attend all Safety Program training; comply with all Academy Safety Program policies and procedures while performing job duties, both on and off Academy property
- Attend professional development as needed to maintain current licensing and to learn new aspects of the trade.
- Work schedule may include working any day of the week and/or evenings as needed

Job Specifications
- Completion of 12 grade or equivalent
- 1-3 years’ experience driving buses preferred
- Valid Massachusetts Class B Driver’s License with Air Brake and Passenger Endorsements
- Successful completion/pass of required physical exams and ability to obtain updated DOT Medical Card
- Willing participation in DOT Drug/Alcohol Training and Testing Program
- Ability to perform repetitive motion tasks including driving
- Ability and willingness to work a flexible schedule including nights and weekends
- Possess good communication skills
- Demonstrated commitment to diversity and inclusion, and to serving the needs of a diverse community
Physical Demands
- Excellent visual acuity
- Ability to perform heavy work, exerting up to 100 lbs. of force occasionally, up to 50 lbs. frequently, up to 20 lbs. constantly to move or carry objects
- Ability to occasionally climb and balance on stepladders
- Ability to frequently crouch, stoop, crawl, reach, push, pull and kneel
- Ability to sit and stand for long periods of time
- Ability to grasp and feel steering wheel and other equipment
- Ability to talk and hear community members to receive instruction and ability to hear emergency siren
- Ability to frequently perform repetitive motion tasks
Working Conditions
- Worker is frequently subject to outside environmental conditions including extreme cold (temperatures below 32°), and extreme heat (temperatures above 100°); consideration should be given to wind and humidity
- Worker is frequently subject to noise
- Worker is occasionally subject to vibration, oscillating movements of extremities or whole body
- Worker is frequently subject to hazards and atmospheric conditions including moving vehicles, moving mechanical parts, fumes, odors, and gases
Compensation:
$25.00-$30.00/hour, based on experience.
