Job Overview

As an experienced L3 Infrastructure Platforms Engineer, you will act as a technical authority across our infrastructure as code and cloud native ecosystems. You will be responsible for architecting, automating, and maintaining scalable, secure, and highly available platforms across Azure and hybrid environments within a regulated financial services setting. This role serves as a bridge between traditional infrastructure and modern development, empowering internal teams through a secure, automated, and reliable platform for service delivery. You will also act as an escalation point for complex platform issues while driving modernisation across hosting and compute services.

Key responsibilities

  • Own and drive a code first approach using Terraform, Bicep, or Ansible to provision and manage infrastructure, eliminating manual configuration and drift
  • Build and maintain CI CD pipelines using Azure DevOps or GitHub Actions to automate infrastructure deployments and updates
  • Develop and maintain standardised “golden path” templates to ensure security and compliance are embedded from the start
  • Own Azure landing zone architecture, including management groups, subscriptions, and governance frameworks
  • Manage containerised and serverless environments including Azure Kubernetes Service and App Services, ensuring scalability and security
  • Optimise cloud performance and cost using monitoring tools such as Azure Monitor and Log Analytics alongside FinOps practices
  • Engineer resilient server and platform environments with automated patching, hardened images, and rapid recovery capabilities
  • Oversee identity and access management using Entra ID, managed identities, and service principals
  • Govern storage and data platforms including SQL, CosmosDB, and Blob storage to meet encryption and performance standards
  • Embed security guardrails into the platform lifecycle through Azure Policy and automated enforcement
  • Support audit and compliance requirements by providing automated evidence aligned to GDPR and FCA standards
  • Maintain platform health through monitoring, observability, and proactive alerting strategies
  • Architect for high availability with multi region failover and disaster recovery solutions
  • Lead root cause analysis for complex incidents, focusing on long term systemic improvements

Required Skills and Qualifications

  • Strong expertise in Infrastructure as Code tools such as Terraform, Bicep, or Pulumi
  • Deep experience with Azure IaaS and PaaS services including AKS, App Services, and SQL Managed Instance
  • Proficiency in scripting and automation using Python, PowerShell, or Bash
  • Hands on experience with CI CD tools such as Azure DevOps or GitHub Actions
  • Strong experience with containerisation technologies including Docker and Kubernetes
  • Experience with observability and monitoring tools such as Prometheus, Grafana, or Azure Monitor
  • Ability to approach infrastructure as a product, focusing on scalability, automation, and self service
  • Strong stakeholder management skills with experience collaborating across development and security teams

Additional Qualifications

  • Azure certifications such as AZ 400 or AZ 104 preferred
  • HashiCorp Terraform Associate certification is an asset
  • Certified Kubernetes Administrator designation is advantageous
  • ITIL v4 Foundation certification is a plus

What We Offer

  • Competitive compensation package aligned with experience and impact
  • Comprehensive benefits including health, dental, and vision coverage
  • Opportunity to work on modern, cloud native infrastructure in a high performance environment
  • Career growth within a globally expanding financial services organization
  • A collaborative and forward thinking technology team where innovation is encouraged
