Position Summary:
Terwilliger Plaza’s serving staff provide excellent hospitality to Plaza members, employees, and guests in our dining room and catering events. Our staff are friendly, patient, and understanding towards seniors and the difficulties that they may face.
Wage: $18.50-21.50 per hour, depending on experience. Gratuity-free environment, but there is a member-donated end-of-year bonus. Servers also receive free shift meals from the Dining Room. Full-time employees (equal to or greater than 30hr/wk) qualify for health, dental, vision, life, and even pet insurance!
General Responsibilities:
- Greeting and seating of restaurant guests, reciting specials, giving recommendations, taking and entering orders, serving food and drinks, and bussing and resetting tables
- Using our Point of Sale (POS) system for all transactions, including cash, card, and member accounts
- Keeping the Dining Room clean and ready for service
- Taking reservations and to-go or delivery orders
- Working with a team of like-minded and self-motivated individuals
Qualifications and Requirements:
- Food Handler’s Card, which can be obtained and paid for by the company during onboarding
- Willingness to learn and grow as a team
- Positive and caring attitude
- Communication and customer service skills
- Ability to stand on feet for extended periods of time and carry up to 20 pounds
Experience:
- Restaurant service and or senior living experience is ideal.
