Job Summary:
Responsible for the 3-phase, 1000V, and industrial troubleshooting to assemble, install, test and maintain electrical or electronic wiring, equipment, appliances, apparatus, and fixtures using hand, power, and precision measuring tools, voltmeters, insulation testers, etc. Electrician would be responsible for diagnosing malfunctioning systems, apparatus, and components using test equipment and hand tools, to locate the cause of a breakdown and correct the problem. Electrician is responsible for the connection of wires to circuit breakers, transformers, or other components. Responsible for observing and following all safety regulations with required PPE
Essential Duties and Responsibilities:
- Maintains continuity among work teams by documenting and communicating actions, irregularities, and continuing needs
- Advise management on whether continued operation of equipment could be hazardous
- Maintain electrical equipment to meet regulatory codes at the country, state and federal levels
- Competent with programming of VFD’s
- Connect circuit breakers, transformers, or other components. In addition, join the wires in boxes with various specially designed connectors
- Replace and/or repair items such as circuit breakers, fuses, switches, control circuits, faulty electrical switches, electrical and electronic components, switchgear, induction heaters, transformers, switchboard meters, regulators and reactors
- Installs and maintains the electrical wiring, electrical equipment, and electronic controls for machines; new electrical services, wiring during remodeling projects; replaces and repairs wiring as needed
- Locates sources of problems by observing mechanical devices in operation; listening for problems; using precision measuring and testing instruments
- Periodically inspect equipment, and locate and correct problems before breakdowns occur
- When breakdowns occur, Electrical Technician make the necessary repairs as quickly as possible in order to minimize inconvenience
- Follow maintenance manual, blueprint, or engineering specification of each piece of equipment
- Coordinate with equipment vendors if the equipment troubleshoot is not able to be repaired
- Removes defective parts by dismantling devices; using hoists, cranes, and hand and power tools; examining form and texture of parts
- Conserves maintenance resources by using equipment and supplies as needed to accomplish job results
- Provide guidance and expertise for future projects and plans, as well as modification of existing setups.
- Prepares electrical maintenance reports by collecting, analyzing, and summarizing information and trends
- Maintains safe and clean working environment by complying with procedures, rules, and regulations
- May operate a computer which controls and monitors mechanical equipment and utility systems
- Responds to emergency maintenance requests as required
- Perform and record preventive maintenance in accordance with company and manufacturer requirements
- May be required to carry out tasks not specifically listed, within the scope and skill level of this position in support of department objectives and to develop one’s skill
- Other duties as assigned
