PRIMARY FUNCTION: To provide assistance to the school principal in the total school program.
PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS:
1. Postgraduate Professional License with the Administration and Supervision endorsement or eligibility for the endorsement.
2. At least three years of successful full-time experience as an educator, teacher, supervisor, or administrator one year of which must have been in the elementary grades.
3. Have demonstrated the leadership qualities and personal characteristics necessary for working effectively with students, teachers, and parents.
REPORTS TO: Principal
PERFORMANCE RESPONSIBILITIES:
1. To assist the principal in the implementation, supervision, and assessment of the total school instructional program.
2. To assist the principal in the selection, assignment, orientation, and evaluation of staff.
3. To coordinate the assignments of and to assist with supervision of student teachers and volunteers.
4. To assist the principal in the supervision of student conduct and extracurricular activities.
5. To supervise and coordinate staff non-primary duty assignments.
6. To supervise and/or coordinate field trips.
7. To supervise the school's safety, security, and environmental control programs.
8. To supervise and coordinate distribution of textbooks.
9. To assist the principal in the departmental budgeting process and the acquisition of supplies and supplementary materials for instructional usage.
10. To assist the principal in the coordination of programs and services supplementary to the instructional programs.
11. To supervise and/or coordinate the attendance/enrollment/tardy policy and program.
12. To perform other duties as assigned by the principal or superintendent.
TERMS OF EMPLOYMENT: Standard 12-month administrative contract.
EVALUATION: Performance will be evaluated in accordance with School Board policy and administrative regulations on evaluation of administrative personnel.
