About the role
BAO Consulting Group is seeking an Executive Vice President of Growth — a transformational commercial leader who will own the firm's revenue engine, build and lead the business development function, and serve as a strategic partner to the President and founding leadership team. This is a named executive role for a professional who has built revenue at scale inside a professional services firm and is ready to do it again inside one of the most differentiated boutique advisory platforms in the country.
What you'll do
- Own BAO's total revenue growth strategy: set targets, build the plan, and execute across all markets and service lines
- Build, lead, and develop BAO's Business Development team — recruiting, structuring, and scaling the function from the ground up
- Personally drive the firm's most strategic relationships: top PE sponsors, anchor clients, and high-value referral sources
- Partner with the President and Co-Founders to define BAO's market positioning, pricing strategy, and competitive differentiation
- Lead all go-to-market activity: marketing strategy, brand presence, thought leadership, events, and digital footprint
- Oversee the full sales process: pipeline management, proposal quality, win/loss discipline, and deal economics
- Represent BAO at the board and executive level — internally and externally
- Develop and own strategic alliances with PE firms, investment banks, law firms, lenders, and other key referral ecosystems
- Provide market intelligence to inform service line investments, geographic expansion, and talent strategy
- Serve as a member of BAO's senior leadership team; contribute to firm-wide operational and strategic decisions
Qualifications
- 15+ years of progressive experience in professional services, with significant tenure in a senior commercial or growth leadership role
- Demonstrated track record of building and scaling revenue at a consulting, advisory, or financial services firm — with personal accountability for $5M+ in annual revenue
- Proven people leader with experience building and managing a BD or growth team
- Deep relationships across the PE sponsor, CFO, and middle-market finance ecosystem — particularly in Texas
- Strategic thinker with the operational discipline to execute; comfortable being both architect and builder
- Executive presence and credibility to represent BAO at the highest levels of the market
- CPA, MBA, or equivalent professional credential preferred but not required
Preferred qualifications
- Former Managing Director, Partner, or C-suite commercial leader at a boutique or mid-size advisory firm
- Existing BAO-adjacent network: PE sponsors, CFO communities, deal advisory ecosystems in DFW and Houston
