Position Summary

The Journeyman Electrician is responsible for executing customer work requests safely, efficiently, and in compliance with all district, state, federal, and Company standards. This role includes installing, repairing, maintaining, and upgrading electrical systems and equipment, while ensuring job sites are properly prepared and equipped. The Journeyman Electrician also provides mentorship and technical leadership to Apprentice Electricians.

Essential Duties & Responsibilities

  • Maintain strict adherence to all safety and security procedures; promptly report unsafe conditions.
  • Report to work consistently and on time, equipped with required personal hand tools.
  • Follow direction from the Electrical Foreman while providing guidance to Apprentice and non‑licensed Electricians.
  • Perform advanced electrical tasks accurately, efficiently, and safely.
  • Read and interpret electrical drawings, blueprints, schematics, safety rules, operating manuals, and maintenance documents.
  • Demonstrate strong knowledge of electrical materials and familiarity with equipment to ensure timely and safe task completion.
  • Contribute to team productivity by identifying issues and assisting in effective problem resolution.
  • Display persistence, initiative, and a willingness to assume additional responsibilities.
  • Apply working knowledge of oilfield distribution systems and transformer banks.
  • Take independent action when needed and maintain strong attention to detail.
  • Remain available for emergency call-outs as required.

Qualifications

  • Valid Journeyman Electrician License (Texas or New Mexico preferred).
  • Strong commitment to safety and adherence to safety regulations.
  • Valid driver’s license.
  • Proficient in reading and interpreting NEC Code Book requirements.
  • Ability to read electrical diagrams, blueprints, and schematics.
  • Willingness to participate in pre-employment, random, and for‑cause drug testing.
  • Ability to effectively communicate and comprehend instructions in English.
