Job Description

Position Summary:

The HR Generalist supports the Human Resources function by executing core HR operations and assisting managers with day-to-day HR processes. This role is responsible for payroll, benefits administration, and employee lifecycle processing, ensuring accuracy, consistency, and compliance. The position works closely with the Director of HR to maintain reliable HR operations and support process improvements.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Process payroll end-to-end, ensuring accuracy, approvals, and timely completion
  • Administer benefits through Ease, including enrollments, changes, and employee support
  • Execute onboarding and offboarding processes, ensuring consistency and compliance
  • Process personnel updates (status, compensation, job changes) accurately in ADP
  • Maintain employee records and ensure data accuracy across HR systems
  • Support employee relations activities through documentation, fact gathering, and follow-up actions
  • Assist managers with performance documentation and corrective action processes
  • Maintain compliance with federal, state, and local employment laws
  • Support audits and ensure HR documentation meets recordkeeping standards
  • Generate and review HR and payroll reports as needed
  • Identify and support process improvements to increase efficiency and reduce errors
  • Provide guidance to managers on HR processes, policies, and documentation expectations
  • Support additional HR functions and projects as needed

Qualifications:

Required

  • 3+ years of experience in an HR Generalist or HR Operations role
  • Experience processing payroll and administering benefits
  • Working knowledge of federal and state employment laws
  • Experience with HR systems, including ADP (Ease preferred)
  • Strong attention to detail and accuracy in data processing
  • Strong organizational and problem-solving skills
  • Ability to handle confidential information with discretion
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office, including Excel

Preferred

  • Experience in a manufacturing or operational environment
  • Experience improving or standardizing HR processes
  • Bachelor’s degree in Human Resources, Business Administration, or related field, or equivalent combination of experience and training
  • HR certification (e.g., SHRM-CP or PHR)
