    POSITION: Infrastructure Technician

    LOCATION: Albany High Complex

    JOB SUMMARY:
    The Dougherty County School System is seeking a skilled and detail-oriented Infrastructure Technician to support the district’s core technology infrastructure. This position is responsible for maintaining and troubleshooting district systems including enterprise phones, physical time clocks, security cameras, network cabling, and IDF/MDF environments. The Infrastructure Technician plays a critical role in ensuring reliable, secure, and efficient operations by providing field support, documenting work, and collaborating with the Infrastructure Manager and IT team to complete projects and resolve issues.

    MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS:
    1. Degree or certification in computer technology, networking, or a related field;
    2. Experience with enterprise phone systems, including physical phone deployment and software configuration;
    3. Knowledge of network infrastructure, including IDF/MDF closet management, cabling, and drop repairs;
    4. Experience with physical time clock systems;
    5. Valid Georgia driver’s license and insurability for district vehicle use;
    6. Such alternatives to the above qualifications as the Superintendent and Board may find appropriate.

    2. Ability to troubleshoot and resolve network and hardware-related issues;
    3. Ability to work independently and collaboratively as part of a team;
    4. Ability to manage multiple tasks independently with minimal supervision;
    5. Professional and courteous communication with staff, vendors, and team members;
    6. Clear documentation and accurate technical record-keeping;
    7. Ability to explain technical concepts in both technical and user-friendly terms;
    8. Flexibility to learn new skills and adapt to evolving technology needs;
    9. Strong organizational and prioritization skills.
    PERFORMANCE RESPONSIBILITIES:
    Infrastructure & Systems Support
    1. Install, configure, and maintain the District’s GoTo phone system and physical handsets;
    2. Deploy, configure, and support Tyler Technologies physical time clocks;
    3. Manage and maintain the District’s security camera system, ensuring compliance with policies, security protocols, and legal requirements.
    Network & Cabling
    1. Perform cabling, drop repairs, ID labeling, and cable management;
    2. Maintain IDF/MDF closets, ensuring organization, equipment upkeep, and accurate documentation;
    3. Diagnose and resolve network connectivity issues in collaboration with the IT team.
    Field Support & Documentation
    1. Provide on-site technical support for installations, deployments, and troubleshooting;
    2. Maintain accurate documentation of infrastructure work, including diagrams, equipment inventory, and service logs;
    3. Escalate complex issues to the Infrastructure Manager as needed;
    Professional Engagement
    1. Follow district security and data protection standards;
    2. Support departmental goals through teamwork and effective communication;
    3. Perform other duties as assigned by the Infrastructure Manager.

    REPORTS TO: Infrastructure Manager

    SALARY RANGE: Twelve-month position – Competitive salary and excellent benefits package, pay grade 60 in accordance with the DCSS Compensation Guide.
