The YMCA of Greensburg is welcoming applicants who understand, demonstrate and stress sportsmanship, fair play and teamwork in all practices and games for our Sports Coach Position. Individuals with a passion for youth sports, fostering good character in youth, serving the community would make a great addition the Y family!

We're looking for coaches in Gymnastics, Volleyball, Basketball, and Swim

Essential Functions:

• Take attendance and teach gymnastic/sport classes to students of various ages and ability levels under direction of the Gymnastics/Sport Coordinator.
• Teach gymnastic/sports skills to team members under the direction of the Team Head Coach.
• Work with children to teach the fundamentals of gymnastics/sports while following all safety procedures and protocols as developed by the gym.
• Assisting and helping children develop a sense of accomplishment and self-awareness of their athletic abilities.
• Complete paperwork for classes when needed including accident reports for participation.
• Report all information to the Gymnastics/Sports Coordinator.
• Planning and supervising team practices, games and special events.
• Supporting and adhering to all league rules.
• Acting as role models to all participants in the program by having a positive attitude throughout the whole season and encouraging all participants regardless of playing ability.
• Leading group discussions before or after practices and game to raise sportsmanship, fair play, teamwork, and character development
• Other duties as assigned.

Qualifications

• Must be at least 18 years of age.
• Experience in the sport that is being coached
• Must commit to attending all practices and games and making provisions for substitutes if unable to attend a practice or a game.
• Must be able to provide or obtain state criminal (Act 33), Child Abuse (Act 34), and FBI clearances.
• Typical requirements within 30 days of hire include: completion of: Child Abuse Prevention for Supervisory Staff, Mandated Reporter Training, Working with Program Volunteers, CPR, First Aid, AED, Bloodborne Pathogens.

Physical Demands: The employee is occasionally required to reach with hands and arms and use legs to lift/move up to 110 lbs. occasionally.
