Golf Course Equipment Technician 

Employment Status:  Full-Time

POSITION SUMMARY  

 The Golf Course Equipment Technician performs skilled mechanical work in the maintenance and repair of golf-course and other related equipment. May require independent judgment in the disposition of routine matters without direct supervision. Will work under the direct supervision of the Vehicle and Equipment Maintenance Manager.  

REQUIREMENTS, ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES   

The essential functions include, but are not limited to the following:  

  • Provides mechanical maintenance and repair of golf course and related equipment 

  • Responsible for the method of repair after receiving written or oral instructions concerning the operation and/or operating condition of a piece of equipment 

  • Must be capable of operating various equipment including but not limited to golf course mowing equipment, tractors, backhoes and loaders 

  • Services and repairs gasoline and diesel engines, air compressors, auxiliary engines, heavy-duty pumps, and gate and hydraulic valves. 

  • Tests, adjusts and tunes engines, fuel injection systems, fuel or oil supply pumps and governors. 

  • Performs preventative and/or service maintenance on a wide variety of equipment which includes oil changes, filters, tires, lubrication, batteries, hydraulic systems, power take-offs, etc. 

  • Maintains records of work performed. 

  • Operates welders, blade sharpeners, and other specialty equipment. 

  • Performs minor body refinishing including part replacement, sanding and painting. 

 Minimum Qualifications (Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities)  

  • Must have excellent mechanical skills (noted in examples of work above) 

  • Must have standard welding skill 

  • Work requires continual attention to details 

  • Must exhibit excellence in Customer Service to all customers 

  • Must be able to perform each essential duty satisfactorily
