Job Description

We produce the world’s best strawberries, and our Engineering Team is foundational to making that possible.

As a Mechanical Engineer, Reliability at Oishii, you will ensure our highly automated, data-driven farms operate safely, efficiently, and predictably at scale. Sitting at the intersection of hardware, software, controls, and operations, you will design, analyze, and improve the reliability of complex systems— conveyors, irrigation, water processing, HVAC, electrical, etc . This role is ideal for an engineer who is an expert at root cause analysis of complex problems, skilled at prototyping and implementing reliable and effective solutions at scale.

What you’ll be responsible for:

  • Own the stability outcomes across the entire facility’s infrastructure (e.g. conveyors, irrigation, water processing, HVAC, lighting, electrical, etc), and report Key Performance Indicators to Engineering, Maintenance, Operations, and Facility Management stakeholders on a daily basis.

  • Rapidly diagnose issues using logs, sensor data, alarms, and on-site investigation to restore system performance and minimize downtime

  • Design, prototype, and implement practical engineering solutions to reliability issues, balancing speed, robustness, and long-term maintainability

  • Identify recurring failure modes and drive systemic reliability improvements through design changes, redundancy, safeguards, and operational controls

  • Partner closely with Operations, Engineering, Commissioning, and Product teams to deploy fixes into live production environments

  • Work closely with Maintenance to develop, implement, train and refine reliability SOPs and programs to minimize system down time

  • Influence system architecture and design standards by feeding real-world reliability data back into upstream engineering decisions
